Work with Tara

In Person 1:1 Training

Working with me is fully personalized, weight-neutral, and rooted in science. Every session is built around your body, your goals, and your life.  We focus on strength, confidence, and sustainable progress.  I meet you where you are, adjust as needed, and create a supportive, judgement-free space where you can challenge yourself, learn how your body works, and feel proud of what it can do.

This is the training that fits into your life and helps you feel strong, capable, and confident, both in and out of the gym.

Virtual 1:1 Training

You don’t have to live near me to train with me. Whether we’re connecting through Zoom or you’re using my app on your own schedule, virtual coaching gives you expert support and a personalized plan, wherever you are.

With live virtual sessions (FaceTime or Zoom), you get real-time coaching, form feedback, and motivation,  just like in-person, but from the comfort of your home or gym. I tailor each session to your space, equipment (or lack of it!), and goals.

With app-based coaching, you get a fully customized training plan delivered through my custom app. It includes clear instructions, video demos, and built-in messaging so you can check in, ask questions, and adjust as needed. I’m in your pocket, keeping you consistent and progressing — even when life gets busy.

Virtual training is flexible, supportive, and just as effective as in-person coaching, with all the accountability, none of the commute.

Small Groups & Classes

Small group training combines the energy of a group with the attention of expert coaching.  You’ll get thoughtfully programmed, strength-based and HIIT-style workouts that are challenging, effective, and adaptable for all bodies.

I coach every class with intention, offering options, cues, and encouragement so you can move in a way that feels supportive and empowering.  Expect a mix of strength, conditioning, and cardio that builds endurance, confidence, and real-world strength without burnout or body shame.

These sessions are fun and efficient, usually with a soundtrack of 90’s pop and hip hop. There’s a strong focus on safety, smart progressions, and most importantly, community.  You’ll work hard, laugh a lot, and leave feeling better than when you started.

Strong bodies.  Smart coaching.  Real community.

Quarterly Progressive Relaxation

This quarterly progressive relaxation session is a chance to slow down, reset, and give your nervous system the break it’s been asking for.

Through guided breathing, intentional muscle release, and gentle awareness, you’ll move out of fight-or-flight and into a deep state of calm. Clients often leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and clearer, mentally and physically.

Progressive relaxation can help reduce stress and muscle tension, improve sleep, support recovery, and increase your ability to handle everyday demands with more ease. It’s especially powerful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in “go mode” all the time.

This session is low-pressure, accessible to all bodies, and requires no fitness experience. You simply show up, get comfortable, and let your body do what it’s designed to do — rest and recover.

Think of it as strength training for your nervous system.  Because rest is part of process and progress.

Strength & Conditioning for Athletes

I train sports teams and individual athletes using strength-focused, evidence-based programs designed to improve performance, reduce injury risk, and support long-term athletic development.

My work is especially focused on female athletes, providing age-appropriate, well-structured strength training that builds power, confidence, and resilience without exposing athletes to diet culture or harmful fitness messaging. I prioritize safe progression, proper technique, and recovery so athletes can train hard while protecting their growing bodies.

For athletic directors and parents looking for a coach they can trust, I offer professional programming that supports athlete health, consistency, and sustainable performance—helping athletes stay strong, confident, and prepared to compete throughout their season and beyond.

Training for Future Trainers

I’m not just teaching theory — I’ve built this career in real gyms, with real clients.

I’m an award-winning personal trainer, professor, speaker, author, and podcast host with over a decade of hands-on coaching experience. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients across all stages of life, and my client book has been consistently full because people stay- not because I chase trends or gimmicks.

My work is rooted in evidence-based training, inclusive coaching, and exceptional client experience. I’ve been recognized by the NSCA as Personal Trainer of the Year, and I’m trusted by both clients and health and fitness professionals for my integrity, education, and leadership in the industry.

What sets me apart is that I teach what actually works in the real world. I know how to build long-term client relationships, create programming that gets results, and run a training business that is sustainable, ethical, and aligned with your values.

If you want to grow your confidence, fill your schedule, and build a career that lasts-  you’re in the right place.  Check out my free mini-course and take the first step toward filling your schedule with clients who stick.

I finally feel strong without feeling judged.

Clients feel safe in a welcoming and affirming environment. No weigh-ins, no side-eye, no pressure to shrink.

I trust you.

Clients feel confident that what I’m telling them is evidence-based, not diet culture. I explain the why, not just the what.

I feel stronger in my body— physically and mentally.

Clients notice better energy, fewer aches, more confidence, improved mood, and a calmer relationship with movement.

You meet me where I am.

No shaming, no bootcamp vibes. Modifications are normal. Progress feels realistic and sustainable.

I didn't realize how much stronger I could feel this fast.

Even with short sessions or once a week training, they feel capable, powerful, and proud.

I don't dread workouts any more.

Training feels doable, supportive, and even fun, which is huge for people who’ve had bad gym experiences!
